ITC gives back in support of Hurricane Harvey Victims

ITC contributed to provide relief in Houston, Texas from Hurricane Harvey. ITC sent a donation of a variety of school supplies to Girl Scout Troop 30237 based out of Slidell, Louisiana. The Troop, comprised of 5 and 6 year old girls, collected donations for the Betty Sue Creech Elementary School.

The elementary school was affected by flooding resulting in a loss of supplies needed for the school year. In an effort to earn their Promise Center badge, the middle piece of their daisy, the Troop collected paper, staplers, staple removers, tape and dispensers, binders and other supplies the school needed for maintaining regular day-to-day operations.

The two week support drive was led by troop leaders Chelsi Canhoto and Meredith Waltemyer. By spreading the word via phone calls, word of mouth and social media, all 15 girls reached their goal and earned their Promise Center badge. Their promise pledge reads: “On my honor, I will try: To serve God and my country, To help people at all times, And to live by the Girl Scout Law.”
